The Light Asean Children’s Home was started as The Light Asean Myanmar Learning Center, a mobile classroom in the outpost, and in various parts of the town ‘Um-phang’ in the beginning of 2011.There were over 30 children at that time and only one teacher. Then more children started to come, learn, and grew up in this children home. The majority of children in this region are Karen Ethnicity.
Soon after that, The Light Asean learning center applied to be a part of BMWEC. In 2013, we obtained a teaching permission license from Migrant Educational Coordination Center (MECC) in the Tak region. In February 2015, we built 2 classrooms. And we were able to build 2 more classrooms and enlarged in 2016. We use Myanmar Curriculum for the students and also teach basic Thai language.
Nowadays, we have total 70 members of children in our children’s home. Kindergarten to Grade 4 are learning school lessons at The Light Asean Children’s Home Learning Center and Grade 5 to above are going to Hsa Thoo Lai High School. The Light Asean Children’s Home has a close friend partnership and is supported by Hsa Thoo Lai High School. The Light Asean Children’s Home has 10 members of teachers and staffs. We embrace our children by love and serving heart.
Education and Trade Skills:
i.Register each child into the Thai school system
ii.Attend grades 1-4 in Umphang.
iii.Attend grades 5 to 12 in Maesot
iv.After grade X, consider change to trade school.
i.Nurture Discipleship among staff and teachers
ii.Have teachers and staff devotions.
iii.Teachers to conduct daily devotions with the children
iv.Nurture staff led outreach to the surroundings.

Shalom Ministry has 12 members of teachers and staff. We have same heart, unity and serving heart.

– try to support the needs of IDP camp.
– our team co workers are always ready for orphanage care, helping in mission school, participating in church programs, going to gospel outreach, going to IDP,refugees.
